Cat Peterson Award
Cat Peterson Award for Courage in the Profession recognizes Teachers United Teachers who put themselves at risk to go above and beyond the call of duty in advocating for students and the profession.
In 2014, then Clover Park High School science teacher, Cat Peterson intervened when a police officer was assaulting a student. Subsequently, she faced retaliatory prosecution from the City of Lakewood.
The award was created in her honor in 2014 and continues to bear her name.
